A newly designed $20 bill with the face of Harriet Tubman will not be released next year as expected.
According to Secretary Steven Mnuchin, the new bill won’t be unveiled until 2028, rather than 2020. He sites one reason for the delay is the department's focus in enhancing security features.
The new design would replace President Andrew Jackson with Tubman’s face on the front of the bill. Jackson would still appear on the back of the bill.
