A popular 20-year-old rapper was shot and killed in South Florida Monday.
According to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office, the shooting happened in Deerfield Beach and claimed the life of the rapper known as XXXTentacion. Officials say he was leaving the area after browsing at a motorsport marine dealership when two men approached him.
At least one of the men shot him.
XXXTentacion released a debut album in August and followed up with another release in March.
According to his Instagram account, he was Florida to plan a charity event for the upcoming weekend.
The rapper’s death is under investigation. A spokesperson says the shooting appeared as a robbery.
