“Freedum” challenges listeners to examine their own culture, history, and perception to find their true selves, rather than accepting society’s views.

Sankofa is giving his audience an upbeat track to enjoy, while also creating awareness and conveying knowledge.

The Columbus, Georgia native cites Outkast, Nas, and Prince as some of his musical influences.

“Freedum” is first single and is set to be released August 28.
